Laundry Bag made from a vintage pillowcase. For the word Laundry, I used my Print Shop program on my computer. When I found a font and size I wanted, I printed it out and then traced it onto the pillowcase. Then I used a iron-on transfer for the design. I embroidered everything using red thread (red work). Since I did the embroidery on the train, the back and knots I was afraid didn't look too good and I was afraid clothes might snag it. So I ironed on some mid-weight interfacing and to make sure it didn't come off from use, I used red embroidery floss and stitched it on. On the outside it looks like I just put a border around the whole design.

That's a mighty fancy laundry bag.  I wouldn't want to put dirty clothes in it.  :o)

What a great use of a vintage pillow case. I agree with Marge, it's awfully pretty to use as a laundry bag. I love redwork.
