Batik scrappy with black & white motifs and borders

Our local quilt shop has a Batik Club - eight 8" squares each month.  This is what I did with mine.  I added a black & white theme print with flowers that I fussy cut for the center block and added b&w borders and sashing.

I really love this.  I always like how a diagonal gradiant  wash effect simultaneously adds harmony and subtle movement.  And the blackand white motifs both ground it and add contrast.
