Worked from a photo I took back in 1988 when my boys(either end) and their friends were enjoying a summer's
day in Indiana. Good friends and good memories always make for good subject matter.
Nicely done! I'd say your boys are quite a bit bigger now. What size is this quilt, and where is it making its home?
Yes, they are all grown up and graduated. (They will always be my little boys!) The piece is 28x16. it will probably find a home on the wall of my sewing room.
incredible! What a work of "heart!"
W O W !
As always, your efforts are stunning. Where did you learn to make such life-like portrate quilts? Will you share your process with us??
This is truly adorable and a wonderful keepsake memory
Great job! Even better than a photograph for hanging on the wall.
this is amazing
I am in awe of what a lifelike quilt pcture you have done. Oh, that I had such talent.
What a wonderful memory and what talent! WOW!
as always your quilts are wonderful, thanks for sharing
How do you do that? It almost looks like pictures. This is such a treasure.
As I mentioned on my other quilt Kavi) I hand sketch the faces with coloured pencil. On this one I had a bit of a problem with the faces and they got a bit wrinkled after the quilting process. My fix was to stuff some extra batting in the back to give their faces the proper relief and dimension.
Thankyou all for the positive input.
What an awesome quilt and what a treasure for years to come. You must share how you worked through this quilt so more of us will be brave enough to try it.
