This is a photo of my.sewingroom. Actually it is the sunroom on the back of my house. I love it! It has so much natural light. When the weather gets chilly, I have a portable ceramic heater. By the time the climate gets too cold, I'm getting ready to head to Arizona. I pack up the sewing machines and store in the house for the winter until I return in the spring. It works out great! Unless, like last year winter came a bit too early, I do have a spot set up in my bedroom where I can also sew.
As you can see I have my cutting table on bed risers. It saves on my back and shoulder pain. The table with my sewing machine is on 2x4's. It raises the table just enough so I'm not so hunched over while sewing. That saves on my shoulder and neck pain. I also set a timer for 1 hour. When the timer goes off, I take a 1 hour break. This is called pacing in the pain management world. Of course, you have to remember to set the timer! There is a plan for that too...a note taped above the timer as a reminder! You do have to remember to read the note, however.
