I totally forgot about a baby shower...and well since I'm a last minute person....I had 2 days to search my fabric, come up with a pattern and make a quilt for the shower. Kaden's Daddy ( my nephew, Matt ), is in the Marines and is presently in Afghanistan. Sadly, Matt won't be home for Kaden's birth in late November. So in his honor, I made this Marine baby quilt. I put Kaden's name at the top and the year at the bottom using free motion quilting. Then realizing I didn't have wrapping paper, (it disappears in my house just like socks in the dryer!), I made a receiving blanket and using that and some long scraps of fabric to wrap the quilt. I was amazed that this quilt was the highlight of the baby shower!

What a great way to "include" your nephew Matt with the quilt
