I started this quilt in February 2011 several weeks after my younger sister had a biopsy for tongue cancer.  I finished the quilt and mailed it so she had it before she started treatment.  I arrived 2 weeks later and stayed until after she finished her treatments.

The center of the quilt contains 4 photos that I printed on photo fabric.  Two photos are of the 2 of us when we were about 3 & 5, and 4 & 6.  The other 2 photos include our mom and were taken in 1970 and 2007.  The appliqued hearts are from fabric that was in our mom's sewing room for many years.  All the hearts are from fabric that either our mom made dresses for us or that we made for ourself.  It was a surprise for my sister because she did not know that I had the fabric.  Both of us could remember each garmet and who made it - except for one pink/with little doggies!  I think we are wearing jumpers in the one photo that was made from that fabric.  But we were both too young to remember.

I am back with my sister because the follow up scan she had in August 2011 was not good news.  She is now under hospise care.

This is a lovely quilt and should be one of the reasons for which we quilt, to give to others.  You are a wonderful sister and I will pray for you and your sister as you go through this difficult time.  Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful quilt for your sister.  I am sorry that she isn't doing well right now.  I will pray for her.
