I made this quilt to be raffled off for our local Relay 4 Life Walk September 10, 2011.  It measures 57X57".  I used a combination of applique and piecing to get the look I wanted.  Each different colored ribbon represents a different type of cancer, the other blocks and banner have quotes on them from a printed panel. I used hearts to accent each corner of the quilt and all appliques were batiks.  It was a HUGE hit at the walk!   I sold $350 in tickets on the quilt and could have sold it 3-4 times at the walk.  All proceeds went to the American Cancer Society

I am not happy with this photo and will try to load a larger better picture.  The quilt was machine quilted by Dream Quilts and has ribbon design edge to edge - not visible in this little shot,

Is there basic pattern? My sister passed away from breast cancer six years ago and I would love to make each of her five children one in her memory. Hugs,

Kathy I have a basic pattern for the ribbons and the hearts were from a charm pack - pre-cut and the panel was purchased.  If you want to email me I can send you my patterns and where to find things:  ladyrose47@yahoo.com.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.  I am a novice quilter but am totally hooked on quilting.  Anyone else familiar with that 'affliction'?  lol  I have sewn since I was 12 yrs old but just started making quilts in 2009.  Love sharing with others.
