My first attempt at free motion flowers. Slow and steady is the key!
Very nice. I think you got it!
Your first attempt?!? I wish my 20th attempt looked that good. Great job.
What a special quilt!
Boy, your first attempt sure looks better than MY first attempt! I recently did (and am doing; I haven't finished, but it has ended up in my UFO pile) this on a quilt and I found it to be very difficult! I think I need to stick with stipple quilting! You did a great job on this.
Very nicely done Dawn!
Thank you all for your lovely comments. Just to clarify, I have been free motion quilting for many years, so I am comfortable with stippling and meandering. And on the Memory quilt, I did cursive writing. I was just doing the free motion flowers for the first time and, like all new techniques (for me at least) I was scared (OK, I said it!) to try it. But once I began, it was OK. There are mistakes and imperfect flowers, but it's OK to make mistakes. Aleta, please keep trying! There is no absolutely perfect way to free motion quilt. You have to find your own comfort and acceptance in what you do.
