It's hard to see the free motion quilting around the photo blocks.  It's cursive writing of words that relate to family.

Wonderful quilt! Please tell me how you got the photos onto the quilt. My daughter in law is an avid photographer and she has lots of pics of our little granddaughter. This would absolutely thrill her if I could make her a quilt like this gorgeous one! Or for our other kids for that matter.

There are websites that will print your photos on fabric for you.  Or you can print them yourself, on purchased printable fabric, or on freezer paper backed fabric that you prepare yourself.  I prefer using EQ's printable fabric on a roll.  It comes ready for printing, no presoaking in chemicals required.  Just remember to set your printer to heavy paper or card stock setting and feed one sheet at a time.
