Scrappy Baby Quilt

I had made a quilt for a cousin out of fabrics that reflected her wedding colors "Jenny's Quilt."  While making that quilt, I learned that she was pregnant.  So with the scraps I made her new baby the above quilt.  They were so happy that they had her first professional baby pictures taken with the quilt.  I'm not sure who was more touched by the gift.  :)

What better compliment than pictures with the quilt. It's beautiful

What pattern did you use?

The pattern has a story of it's own.  :)  My aunt quilts, has for many years.  Love to share with her my projects and tour her house and her lovely quilts in progress.  She had a stack of magazines that she sent on to me.  I found this pattern in one of those magazines - it was in the Summer 2005 edition of "Quilt" magazine.  The pattern was called "Treasure Box" by Nancy Mahoney.  I didn't have enough fabrics left to do the fun borders that she did, but I think it still turned out really well.

Very cute!  I think I ran across this pattern the other day while sorting through quilting magazines...

How great that you could tie the two quilts together like that! What a keepsake that will make!
