Just put together these stars (18" blocks). Wondering if I should put borders on it - what do you think?
Very pretty. Borders would look good.
Jenn very pretty , but yes I'd put a border on it ..Barbara
Yes a border, and I love it, also see some fabric I have...LOL!!!
I love stars and yes borders would be great
This is wonderful. I think a border would frame it really well.
Beautiful artwork deserves a great frame. I would add at least one border.
Love it! A border would be great
I usually always feel that a quilt needs a border, but also I like it when if the background is light, like yours, using a darker binding instead of adding a border looks just as nice, that way the blocks pop a little :-) I've made 3 quilts with lighter backgrounds and no borders and I really like the contrast binding only approach
Yes, put a border on it. All my quilts are "framed" with a border.
Beautiful quilt.
Beautiful, yes I would put borders.
I vote for adding a border. Even if you use just a small border, it just seems finished with borders.
Very pretty quilt. Border would be nice.
I think a 2" whitw border would make the stars float. Then a brightly colored binding to frame it.
I agree with the others. I think a border would definitely frame it and make it look more finished.
Beautiful colors but definetly needs a border,
lovely!
If you have more of the light fabric, float the stars then do as suggested earlier and do a dark binding.
Hi Jennsquilts,
We also posted a link to this on the QCA Facebook page.

Yes, it needs a border. Choose one of the primary colors in the stars for a narrow border, then add another primary color for a wide border, 8 or 10 inches wide. Then use a dark navy for binding to frame it.
It's very pretty and a border would frame it.
I love the idea of a dark binding--before I read that I would have said border but now...dark binding, I am going to try that myself now with a light background quilt, no border.
Once again, you've all provided great suggestions! Now that I have a few ideas, I'm gonna go off and put them to use. I'll post an updated pic when it's done.
This is a beautiful quilt. As for the borders, I guess it would depend on if you're using it for a throw or on a bed. It's a good throw size as is. I, myself, like adding borders. The dark binding with no borders sounds good if you're not wanting any larger. Love the spin look star pattern. Either way you've done a fantastic job on it!
Beautiful! Love it!
I would definitely add borders....the quilt is stunning and borders would just set it off perfectly
Border definitly. The idea of a white border so stars would float is great. It would make room for some interesting quilting and really set the stars off. Then a colorful binding
I vote for adding borders too. I would go with a narrow border and then a wider border. I'm not so sure if i would like the white border. I would have to see that. I would lean more towards pulling out a couple of the colors from your stars.
