This quilt is created from a panel and checked/patched material I purchased when I visited Northern Saskatchewan in 2010 meeting extended family from my husband's side of the family. This was a thank you gift to the couple who invited and housed us from the week. This couple live on farmland and keep horses that are being used in their business of taking people on wagon trail rides. The panel reminded me so much of them.
The backing to the quilt was material that looks like patchwork and seemed to fit perfectly with the panel. Quilting was freehand, however, the horses are outlined so that they stood out more on the blanket.
