Memorial quilt for my dog, Kessie
Kessie passed away at Thanksgiving 2010 and I had just learned to quilt. Over the course of her life I saved her bandanas from the groomers. I didn't know what I would do with them. Someone showed me how to do a scrappy quilt so I took it from there. I cut all her banadanas in different lenghts and widths. I had a fat quarter of the black and white dog foot prints that I sewed in the middle of the muslim. Then I added different fabrics to the squares. I had a lot of scrappy bandana fabric to work with but I was limited with the amount of black and white foot prints fabric. That dictated the size of the quilt. I read on the Internet how to put photos on fabric. It's really pretty simple. If you look at the four corners you can see photos of Kessie. The top left photo and the bottom right photo are from greeting cards she was on for Hallmark. To finish off the quilt I discovered the fabric with a row of dogs to put around it. I sure learned how to line up my rows and corners. It was a lovely journey of learning.
