Log Cabin in the Woods

This is a queen size quilt I made for my brother-in-law when he built his new home. It is 3 different foundation pieces, a Cabin, a Tree and the geometric shape. I started it the same year he started his home it took four years for me to get it finished( the same as for his house) it is 6 inch finished blocks. It is made with cotton/poly blend in shades of blue, brown, and green with a white on white background color. This was one of my first harder quilt I did.

Absolutely gorgeous!  My SIL would just love this quilt. I made her one with the trees as one of the first I did, before I really knew what I was doing.  I really should try one like this for her.  It would put the first one I did to shame!

This is wonderful.  I particularly like the way the trees are shaded, and the color of the diagonal chain.

Thank you for all the nice words about this quilt it means so much to me, The pattern I used it from the "Easy Machine Paper Piecing" by Carol Doak. I used her idea for one of her lap blankets in the back and just added enough blocks to make it a queen size .
