This quilt was made for our Great Grandson due to arrive in October. I found the pattern on line and tried my hand at paper piecing to make the kite shape. The pattern suggested a white background but I liked the sky look for a baby boy. I had almost enough blue for the back but not quite so I took the pieces left from the tail sections and put them down the middle. The binding is made from all the different prints used in the kites. The cloud quilting design came for another hobby (rubber stamping) it was a plastic piece used to make clouds on cards. It is fun to find other uses for the tools we have.
