One month before turning 18 (so he was still a juvenile), my son Andrew was caught speeding. As community service, he made 4 quilts for the homeless shelter in that jurisdiction. He did all the designing, cutting and piecing, I did the machine quilting and binding.

I like the motion these fabrics suggest.  Great job.

Kim - your son is doing an amazing job on his quilt project.  Did he sew before he started on this?

Both my kids know how to sew, but my daughter would rather eat glass.  Andrew was really pleased in middle school when he threaded many of the girls' machines for them!.  He loves the geometry and mathematical patterns in quilting, but now would rather play on EQ7 than with fabric.
