This summer we got to take a trip to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware with my mother and a good friend. Our first day, the Atlantic was a frigid 62 degrees. On the second, it had warmed up to 72 degrees and the jellyfish decided to come out and play. The ones washed up on the beach that day weren't as lovely as this one, but I like to think they're prettier out in the ocean.
I decided to make this block to go with the Hawaiian Dolphin block for my daughter's new bedspread. I rounded up all the pretty blues I could find in my stash and made a patchwork background. The jellyfish was drawn by hand and then appliqued. I'd been struggling with a theme for Arielle's quilt, but I guess I've got one now!
