This block is my first entry in a contest -- I used batik and regular cotton prints with fusible applique.  My block represents memories from summer vacations in western Nebraska -- I absolutely loved being out in the Sandhills where my Grandfather grew up.  He had told me so many stories that the landscape seemed to come alive.  The yuccas, or as Grandpa called them "soap weeds" grow everywhere.

Awesome quilt.  Great fabric choices and beautiful work.  Yucca flowers are my fathers favorite,  My mom always planted them where they could enjoy the beauty from the dinner table.

Very pretty!  Love the use of the different greens for the leaves.

I so like the textures you've used and the space you've created.

Great block!  Love all the texture you created on the leaves, etc.  Good job!
