Scarlet is my two month old Great Granddaughter and this quilt was made especially for her. Sock Monkey was the theme chosen by by her parents Alexis and Vincent. Scarlet was born 6/13/2011 and suffers from HLHS a congenital heart condition. She is currently on a heart transplant list. She was born five pounds of fight and has been blessed so much already.
This is my first machine pieced and hand quilted quilt. I used mixed cottons and cotton flannel in this soft cuddly quilt. The quilting in the nine- patch squares was hugs(X) and kisses (0). The alternate six" squares were quilted with 12 hearts I designed to fit, the border and triangles were quilted with hearts.
Lots of prayers said with the stitches.
