I have many memories of sunsets by the sea.  It's one of my favorite things about living near the coast in Florida.  Some of my best days have ended with watching the sun set at the beach.  It's a wonderful thing, especially after a long hot summer's day.

Linny, I love this the grass with the shadow the birds, sunlight.  so beautiful.  I feel like I am soaking up the peace.

The embroidery on this block is exquisite, I especially like the sun reflecting on the water. Beautiful.

This block is gorgeous.  I love the embroidery.  What kinds of fabric did you use?

Thanks Loretta & damajade.  

The fabrics are silk dupione, satin and 1 piece of a cotton/poly blend (under the sea oats & sign).

Oh, I forgot to add that I used organdy in the clouds, for the sun's rays and in the reflection in the water.

Linny, the only word worthy of this block is EXQUISITE!  Your work is impeccable!  I remember your embellishments in one of the other groups which was lost when the site was changed.  I used to go there often to admire your work.  Was it the applique group?  Never thought to look in your gallery.  That's where I'm headed right now.

I think you're talking about the Tisket a Tasket blocks from Gini's Applique group.  I reposted them in there after the site change.  I suppose I should post more in my gallery, but I never take the time to do it.
