This is the very first quilt I made.  The top was done 2 years ago and I finally finished it last night for my DH and DS.   Back then I bought the cheapest material I could find (top, backing, batting, and pattern for a total of $65). I had no idea what I was doing but wanted to try to make a quilt.  Well, now the dollar signs have gone up and I've made 10 quilts since then and haven't looked back!  You definitely learn something new with each project. I try to challenge myself and throw in one new technique with each one.  Always a great feeling, (but a little sad too!), when the last of the binding goes on.

Sandra - Love the pattern.  Do you have an idea where you got it or what it is called?

Gin:  Pattern is a Take 5 Quilt called "Teacher's Pet".   The lady at the store said it was great for beginners and she was correct--very easy!

I couldn't identify with you more! My first quilt was made with Walmart fabric and it turned out quite nice but I have since discoverd good quilt fabric and what a difference it makes! Your quilt is very pretty and looks like it was fun to make.

so great.  It is such a great feeling to finish projects.  It took me 5 years to finish my first quilt.  Fabric..oh it is so $$ but the good quality stuff just feels so good in the fingers and you know it will look nice forever.  Totally worth it right?  I love the colors that you chose for this quilt.  Vibrant and equal.
