I recently attended my first Stack n Whack workshop and learned how to make the 4 Patch Posey block. Before putting all my blocks into a large quilt, I decided to make a small wall hanging first using a single block with multiple borders in order to test the process. I also decided to try my hand at basic Trapunto by adding extra batting to the gold/black borders and the purple border. I think it makes the block look like it is "framed" and gives an interesting 3-dimensional look. Now that the 25" x 25" wall hanging is done I am starting to work on the full size quilt using the rest of my blocks in a similar layout. The picture below is my design wall showing my progress so far on the larger quilt. Still have more blocks to complete before adding the borders.
