This is my largest "machine" quilted project to date. I did a yarn-tied "Trip Around the World" over 25 years ago in high school... I've also done table runners, holiday stockings and a wall hanging (which was also yarn tied.) I learned a lot on this project... like maybe I should take some actual quilting lessons! This was done with the "10 minute block" from YouTube and I used the "Batting Buddy" for backing and connecting the blocks, so it was quilt as you go. I did the quilting on each block as I sewed down the rolled "cathedral" edges on the diamonds. I used 4" blocks for all of the colored blocks and the diamonds. I have a lot of the 30's reproduction fabric left (which I have decided is extremely pretty!) and I know I have a lot to learn yet, but I am pretty pleased with how this came out and I am anxious to start a new project with my "scraps"! Sorry for the picture quality - will try to get some better pictures in the daylight. I finished this last night. This is approximately 45 x 45 inches.
