Pattern from Quiltmaker Magazine; a three part mystery in issues May/June 2011, July/August 2011, and September/October 2011 called Secret Window designed by Debbie Caffrey.  Quiltmaker asked me to be their first ever quilt along blog hostess for this beautiful project.  I was so honored, surprised, nervous...but I accepted the challenge.  I have had lots of new experiences with this new endeavor for me as well as Quiltmaker.  Diane and the staff at Quiltmaker are great folks to work with if you ever get the chance.  The blog post is in four parts with Part 1 composed of two posts.  You will need your magazine issues to work with the blog post where I share my process of making a scrappy version; and show you how I used Tri-Recs rulers for one of the units in Part 2.  The post is on this site under Quiltmaker Groups 2011 Mystery Quilt Along.  I call my quilt Koncealed finished July 2011.

The choice an placement of colors on this quilt make it look as if there is a light coming from within.  Thank you for the "ahhhh" moment.

Kwiltnkats, you have such talent with colors.  I could learn a lot from you just looking at your quilts.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments.  San Diego just got September/October issue (with Part 3) yesterday (8/6). Hope everyone has their's in hand now.  There are so many rich colored fabrics on the market these days.  The problem (wink) becomes which color to start a project with...
