Pattern by Mimi Shimp.

This was done for a friend of mine for a wedding gift. The colors matched her wedding colors. The finished quilt was approximately 6 foot by 6 foot (36 blocks total).

...and it's in the comments section...but for future reference...this is the link to what I used to make it: tlc.howstuffworks.com/.../true-lovers-knot-quilt-block.htm

As there is no information in the link for how much fabric to buy, I did all the math myself. For the quilt shown, I bought about 4 yds. of each color (to include the borders/binding around). I did each strip 1 1/2 inches (so 1 inch finished strips) with the middle square being 2 1/2 inches square (so a 2 inch square when finished). The border around the outside was 3 inches wide finished...so 3 1/2 inches when cut (for 1/4 inch seam allowances on each side). I don't want to write out each measurement for each individual strip (as there are 21 total)...but if you draw it out on graph paper (like I did), I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't forget to add on seam allowances to each side of the strips before cutting and happy quilting. ;)

Please tell me how to get this pattern.  My daughter just got engaged two days ago and I would love to make this quilt for their wedding.

Genevieve, since you posted this quilt I have been trying to locate the pattern. I have found so many other quilts with the same name but not that one! Please post pattern information as I would love to make one for my son and his wife.

Thank you!

For those asking for a pattern, this is what I used. For some reason, the specifics are no longer listed out...but I remember my printout of the pattern having all the pictures in this link:

tlc.howstuffworks.com/.../true-lovers-knot-quilt-block.htm

Basically, the block piece was sewn in a semi-spiral...in the order of the numbers in the downloadable PDF listed at the top of the page. I think I did mine in 1 1/2 inch strips (so 1 inch finished strip pieces)...though I might be wrong about that. You could pretty well do it in any size you want though. Good luck to all who wish to try it. It was a fun quilt to do. :)

okay...I found the pattern printout I had...and it is the EXACT same as the link provided above (so no actual measurements for cutting or how much fabric to buy, etc.). I did all the math myself. For the quilt above (which was around 5.5-6 foot squared when finished), I bought about 4 yds. of each color (to include the borders/binding around). I did each strip 1 1/2 inches (so 1 inch finished strips as originally thought) with the middle square being 2 1/2 inches square (so a 2 inch square when finished). I don't want to write out each measurement for each strip...but if you draw it out on graph paper (like I did), I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't forget to add on seam allowances to each side of the strips when cutting and happy quilting. ;)
