Thsi is digitized, appliqued, embroidered and quilted.
Wow! Impressive! Is the whole thing composed of appliques pieces? What exactly do you mean by "digitized."
I haven't done much applique so I find this really impressive. I guess I need to have my machine serviced because when I try to do free-motion on my small machine, using a darning foot, it won't catch the bobbin thread. Worked fine for awhile and then all of a sudden it just quit.
WOW, I'm still trying to get the points on stars correct. this is just amazing..Barbara
This is done with a computerized embroidery machine. First I take an image from a photograph, decide how to translate it into a thread picture with the computerized program (digitize). It takes a great time of work for this step and many trials before I am happy with the results--in fact every time I look at it I have to tweek it again. It is then embroidered in the hoop of the machine. I am glad you like it. Thank you.
I not only like it, Genette. I am bowled over impressed with it. It sounds like a process that takes a lot of love and it shows in the piece. Just stunning! How did you decide on the subject. Is it comissioned?
THAT is done in fabric and thread?! My stars! Awe inspiring, just amazing.
Wow is all I can say Genette!!!
Thank you all. To answer your question it was an idea I had when I saw the original window many years age. I felt that stain glass is perfect to use as a subject matter for my type of applique/embroidery. It tickled me that you thought I was good enough to get commissioned work. I am an amateur filled with ideas.
This is amazing - you've so perfectly captured stained glass windows! The execution, the embroidery, the applique...all I can say is WOW !
This is truly gorgeous.
What a beautiful piece.
This is wonderful. I understand they have cleaned the windows at Chartes and they are beautiful once again. When I was there in 1983 they were very dingy.
