Here is my new summer table runner for putting across the top of my piano. My piano is currently the only place that I have to really do any decorating in my house, so I am making table runners for each season to put under seasonal decorations. This is my first attempt to using my own darning foot and try a pattern that wasn't just a stitch in the ditch or loops. I obviously need practice, but it got better in parts. Warning, dont' look at the quilting too closely. This is also the first time that I was able to lower my feed dog on my machine to quilt. I couldn't figure out how to do it before and then I saw someone on youtube doing a demonstration on their machine that was the same as mine. What a difference that made this time. It was sooooooo much fun making this table runner.
This table runner is made from a fabric line called Riviera printed in 2008 by Connecting Threads. I made it using the pattern Sassy Blooms from Easy Quilts Summer 2008. I changed the flowers to look more like a table runner I saw on Sandy Gervais blog a month ago. I am just a fan of these types of flower and I actually just reduced the size of the flowers from my pattern from Crazy Old Ladies called In Bloom. It will match that quilt better and that quilt is hanging up by my piano.
I don't think that I mentioned that I am IN LOVE!!! with my finished product. If you want to see more picture close up and on my piano check out my blog post.
Hope that you enjoyed.
