This is the left-over strips and triangles from a quilt built for my sister-in-law. The pattern originally called for 440 blocks, but after laying it out, I cut it down a bit and used the remaining blocks for this lap quilt that goes nicely in our sunroom.

I don't think I've seen this pattern before. I like it and it's cheery!

I'm curious if the strips are sewn into the pattern or were they put "on top" after the blocks were sewn together....either way, I like it....thought if I wanted to copy it, it would be easier to add them "on top".

Love it!  I think I got that pattern as a freebie with a magazine subscription.  You have made me want to check through my patterns and see if I have it so I can make one.

I've made several of these.  It was actually a free pattern with one of the quilt magazines sent in the mail to entice you to subscribe to their magazine.  My quilt group made these one month last year.  They turn out so cute and are so easy...not to mention using up scraps.

I think it was just a 6" square cut in half and a 1 1/2" strip sewn between the two triangles.  Trim the blocks down to 5 1/2" or 6" (whatever you can get out of them) and sew them together.  Love it!!!
