Hand applique and beading on machine quilted background. Cactus body is wool. Flower petals are cotton fabrics. Inks were used for shading around the hand embroidered "thorns" on the body of the cactus. Completed for my Dad's birthday in July of 2007.

Thank you. The background striped material is free motion quilted to follow the lines in the material - it was not pieced. The quilting took forever as the lines are anything but straight but I wanted to highlight the lines in the design! :-)
