This is my summer quilt. I just finished the top and put it on my quilt ladder. I will take it down in the fall and put on the backing, quilt it and bind it. My co-worker gave me this kit over a year ago for some work we did together. She won a competition with a huge cash prize and I could not be happier with the gift she gave me in return. The pattern is In Bloom by Crazy Old Ladies and I think that the fabrics came from a line by Terry Atkinson and Liz Lois for Red Rooster Fabrics, however, i got it as a pre-made kit and so I am not sure exactly if all the fabrics came from that line.
I am really happy with the quickness of this project. From start to this stage it only took a few hours. Separating the fabric, cutting the flowers out and the steam a seam 2 to applique took a little time. My friend has a blanket stitch on her machine and I borrowed the machine to attach the applique edges. I stayed up one night after my daughter went to bed, listened to a movie and sewed the edging. I love it and can't wait to finish it. It will be my first attempt at sewing this big a quilt on my own machine with my darning foot. I am pretty excited. It will be fun.
