Angels from Mom's wedding gown

I made angels (they hang up from a loop behind their head) from my mom's wedding gown for my sister and me.  Super easy - 17x35" rectangle for the dress.  The bottom of each "skirt" was a special piece - one was the rouched neckline, the other was from one of the bias pieces and I made a ruffle.  Simple pattern for the wings & 'body/face'.  Used doll hair and then tinsel for the halo.  Interfacing & light batting to give the wings strength Great way to use a dress and keep some memories alive.

Beautiful.  When my daughter got married, I made a small drawstring bag for her to carry her "essentials". I made the bag from the fabric and lace from my wedding gown.  In back of the white lace I placed pieces of the blue silk from my mother's wedding dress. It turned out beautiful  I hope she treasures it.  Maybe a grandchild can use the same bag when she gets married.  After all it is 'something old' and 'something blue' in one item.
