This is the quilt that all the red ran in it when washed, but synthropol saved it. It was a kit that I purchased at a sewing show and took me 3 years to finally get it made. It was a lot of learning, as when I squared up the stars, I neglected to center the star, then when sewing together realized that I was cutting off the tips. Good lesson learned. I still am very happy with it.

Love this, and glad you were able to save it with Synthropol.

LOL, Thanks Marge but it's really happy on my couch in the winter! One of the ladies in my quilt guild made the same quilt and she did it in very dark reds and whites, turned out really pretty too, and it's quite amazing that even though it's the same pattern, they look quite different.

i just finished this quilt top myself. i did most of the embroidery during the summer months lying outside in the sun while getting weird looks from my friends and family. i love it-and i appreciate all you learned and went through. good lessons though- and your final product turn out beautifully~

I've just finished all the redwork.  When trimming up the redwork blocks I cut 2 of them too short so I'm just going to border them with the same fabric.  I have to get the quilt blocks cut out...and do the redwork down the seems of the center piece.  I used the Sulky varigated thread...the heavier weight for the embroidrey.  I love the dimension it gives.
