Tractor quilt

I made this lap-sized quilt for an older friend who resides in a nursing home.  He used to drive tractors, so when I saw this tractor fabric, I had to buy it and make him a quilt.  The pattern for the pieced block is from www.quilterscache.com and is called Interlocked Squares.  The quilt was quilted on a longarm with a large and small spirals pantograph.

This is so cute. I like that the interlocked squares look a little like windmills made out of Italian flags. Extra dimension. Very fun.

Patti - i like the quilt you made for your older friend.  I thought about the Italian flag too - just like Chrysalis!  Is your friend by chance Italian or wasn't that the reason you chose those colors.

The Italian flag colors was just a fluke!  The original Interlocked Squares block called for the very center square to be a different color.  I decided that would be too much work and wanted to strip piece it with just the 3 colors of rectangles, which ended up creating a windmill shape.

Patti, cute quilt, thought it was for a child but what a great idea to make for a nursing home resident who used to drive tractors.  I bet he lit up when he saw it.  Bless you.
