I decided a churn dash block would mimic the pretty daisies on the bright blue fabric. Once the blocks were complete, I decided it looked too much like an Americana design so I swapped the border fabric with the backing fabric. I still thought the blocks looked a little plain, so I took some yellows and blacks from my stash and made the bee appliques which are identical to the little bees buzzing all over the fabrics.

I haven't decided what to do with it yet, but it will go in my little (but growing) stack of quilts for future gifting or for sale.

Love it.  The bees definitely make the quilt fun.

Thanks, Nana and Gini. "Quilty Bees" would make a good name for it, wouldn't it? Clever, Gini.

I can't believe you did this wonderful quilt with no particular person in mind.   Whoever eventually gets this  should surely cherish it.

Well, Ginny, I was at JoAnn's Fabrics when they had just put these fabrics on the red tag table and they had marked all the red tag fabrics down 50%. I just couldn't resist! I spent a total of $75 just on fabric that day - that is more than I have ever spent on fabric at one time (I was wracked with guilt for weeks!).

I had no idea what I would do with these fabrics, but when I saw F&P (on tv) do a churn dash block I was thinking how much it resembled a flower and it brought to mind the cute red-centered daisies on these fabrics.

Sometimes I begin a project with one person in mind, but by the time I finish it seems to be meant for someone else. Either way, everyone on my list gets taken care of.

Is it weird that I never follow someone else's pattern? I guess it makes more work for me that way (an more mistakes, no doubt) but I enjoy the process of planning and designing.

Thank you, Marge. I love posting my pics here because you all give me a huge boost to my ego - something I sorely need after suffering multiple setbacks on a challenging project. ;-)
