This is just my second cotton quilt top I've ever worked on ... other than the tiny baby quilts I have done.  It is from fabric I actually found at JoAnn's off of a clearance table.  It is cities around the world.  My mom told me that a good practice quilt would be to just cut simple rectangles and piece a top.  So, of course this was extremely simple for a beginner like me, but I learned as I went.  I still have to get my borders on this one ... so hopefully I'll get that done soon.

This looks great in your room. You're doing a super job. Can't believe it's only your second "larger" quilt.

thanks.  i won't quilt it myself ... praise God.  i'll send it off to be machine quilted.  am busy making quilts for wyatt's work right now though, so i'll have to get my borders done later.  thanks!

This is pretty.  I love to see a new quilter's work.  It makes me remember my early quilting days.  Your Mom is right to teach you simple shapes first.  You learn the stepping stones that way.  You are lucky to have her as a teacher.
