"Lady in Red" Heart Wall Hanging

This Heart Wall Hanging is being donated to the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix, Arizona in memory of my late mother who died  2/3/2007 of heart disease and to honor GO RED FOR WOMEN. It is my heartfelt wish that no one else dies from heart disease simply because they do not "know the symptoms" as my mom did.  As many of you know my mother was very beautiful and wore a red silk dress to go out in on Saturday nights when I was a child.  It is this dress that I so fondly remember; thus, I wanted my beautiful heart wall hanging to be named after a very beautiful mom "The Lady in Red".   I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it for my mom.

Here's to you mom. It's just not quite as beautiful as you were. You were the very best.  All My Love, Marlene

Mars,

Your quilt is positively wonderful. I love it! Not just the quilt itself, but your beautiful tribute to your Mother, and the wonderfully expressed feelings about her and your dedication in doing this as a "gift" donation to the Arizona Heart Institute in hopes that any woman or "anyone" will not die from this disease. Your LAQ did amazing works herself by including the hearts in her quilting design. Wow!

A very worthy cause, to be sure.  This is cute.  Nicely done and I love the way the fabrics work together.  Such a touching story about your Mom.

Marlene, Thank you for sharing this and the story  of your mom at the luncheon on Friday. You are a very special lady. I hope next winter I can go the AZ Heart Institute and see the actual quilt. What a wonderful tribute!
