Irish dance dress - front

This is an Irish dance dress that I made for my daughter in 2004 so that she could compete in Irish dance competitions (feisanna).  It is also where I learned to satin stitch my appliques!  It took hours and hours to make this dress.  It is a very heavy dress and the front panel is stiffened with super heavy-duty Pellon interfacing.

Gorgeous dress and beautiful daughter.  How did she do in her competitions.  I love Irish dance.

Thanks!  Nana, she did very well in competitions.  She has a bunch of medals lying around the house.  She is in college now and no longer competes, but she has resumed taking lessons and is also helping to teach the other students in the dance school.

patti   beautiful dress and aoughter.   there must be a lot of rish dancing in your area.   we were in arkansas a few years ago, in a state park and there was a group from near you that came down and danced.  what a treat

Thanks, everyone!  My DD is actually thinking about entering a competition as an adult this summer.  I'm thinking about going down to VA to see her dance again.  I really miss going to the feisanna (Irish dance competitions) with her.  It was always fun mom/daughter bonding time together.
