Door UPDATE!

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd post a new pic of the next phase of my door quilt. I"m working on the section above the door. I sprayed some thin clear vinyl with matte sealer to dull down the shinyness of the vinyl to make the "window" appear old. I then machine appliqued the hand painted gothic style "wood" ornamentation to the vinyl using TINY zig zag stitches. (Around the quilt you can see where I'm putting up ideas along with a pic of the original door. I have painted batiks. fabric that I rusted, and painted muslin. I'll use these for the bricks around the entire door.

Thank you Nana! I'm having a great time designing and making up new techniques. I've never seen anyone use vinyl for windows before so I'm interested to see how that looks when it's finished.
