Twin/Full. Blacks and reds cut into strips. Super easy to construct because there are no seams to match.
I like this type of quilts, this kinda reminds me of a bargello quilt.
Very nice quilt Darla.
Thanks, girls. I appreciate your kind words.
Valerie, what is a bargello quilt?
Gorgeous quilt. Love the colors
This is beautiful Bethany.
here is an example of bargello www.amishcountrylanes.com/.../hs608.shtml
your quilt is beautiful, too
omg that bargello is gorgeous!
You are correct in noting the similarities. I watched two episodes of Quilt In a Day which showed simpler versions of the same technique. Since I have done both of the Quilt in a Day quilts, I believe I really could do a bargello. And look how simply it was quilted: diagonally through every other square! Finally, one that is simply quilted but looks so very impressive. Thanks for cluing me in on this!
Here is the info about the Quilt in a Day quilts I mentioned. The first is the Quick Trip Quilt which you can find here quiltinaday.com/.../3101.html
The second is the Quick Quarter Quilt which you can find here quiltinaday.com/.../3102.html. This is the one I adapted to show off the Red and Black fabrics used in Bethany's Christmas quilt. I used the same technique but lengthened the squares to rectangles. I kept the black fabric on the right and left, but randomized the beginning length of black on each row.
Whoa. What a beauty. Very interesting and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
