Original design features Russian style matryoska dolls. Machine pieced 100% cotton top. Hand appliqued using the flannel backing fabric and hand embroidered using embroidery floss. Machine and hand quilted. Hooded corner on back has been hand embroidered.

 

For my first granddaughter, Addison. November 2010.

Thanks! This was my first attempt at machine quilting in nearly 30 years. My daughter, the baby's mother, is from Russia; thus the Russian theme. The matryoshkas represent generations. It was a labor of love.
