Machine pieced, machine quilted in ditch. Twin. January 2011.
Very nice Darla
Despite ruining two quilting needles and running one through my finger, I am quite proud of this one as it is the first one that makes me feel like I am really becoming a quilter. The binding is my best work so far. The pieced quarter-square triangles are less than perfect because I still can't figure out how to get a PERFECT 1/4" seam every time even though I try to take my time in each step. But I will get there.
The colors are more vivid in person than in this photo.
Looks beautiful. You have a great eye for color. Keep at it
Love the floral print with the angular lines of the triangles. Great combo!
i love quilt done with the design running down the quilt this is beautiful.
before i got my 1/4 inch foot, i cut a piece of 1/4inch wide masking tape about an 1/8 inch deep on the roll, two inches long. i lined it up on the bed of my machine, so that when the fabric was butted up against it, it gave a perfect 1/4 seam as i sewed. gini
Thanks for the compliments, ladies. I do appreciate the encouragement.
Gini, I do have a 1/4" foot and the masking tape, too. I have had problems with the needle placement being inconsistent. I think the needle might have been loose because it kept sneaking over to the left and caused my seams to widen. I think I need more practice! Yay! ;-)
