Crazy batik curves

You can tell I'm still a beginner. The project shrunk 4 inches upon washing, and the sides are distorted. Still, I'm very pleased with my first batik project and my first project with curves. Basically, I'm pleased anytime I finish anything, and this one adds a great splash of color to an otherwise boring stair well wall.

This should be the last project that I quilt with my DSM. The next project will be quilted on my new (used) HQ16!

Nancy~I love this quilt! I feel like we were all part of it's birth. It's a beautiful quilt and you should be very proud of it and that is a nice spot to hang it. She's a beauty!

Yay- you finished it! It looks great, MNnancy :-) I'm nervous about curves myself & you helped take a bit more of the fear away for me, so thanks for sharing.

This is so beautiful. You say you're a beginner???? Amazing.You mentioned that it shrank. I never pre-wash my fabrics and nearly always wash it as soon as it's all quilted and the binding is on. I like the puckered look that comes from the shrinkage.

Love this quilt! Batiks are my favorite and I love your color choices.

I see you're from the Brainerd Lakes area.....we have a cabin in the woods just outside of Deerwood:) Hopefully we'll be retiring up there in the next few years. I just made my second visit to Country Fabrics & Quilting - my new favorite shop!
