Heather Mulder is from Willmar, MN, which is only 40 miles from us. She did one of our summer retreats and we could choose which of her designs to make. I chose Posie Bowsie, because I had some lame type fabrics that I wanted to use and thought this would be a good pattern for them It was the first time I tried making the scalloped border.

Yes, they are. There's a way of folding each petal, anchoring them and then sewing the button to hide the ends in the center.
