I joined the quilt guild in September of 1998 and at the November meeting I won the block of the month challenge, which was called "Think outside of the box." As you can see the blocks are a little different and I wasn't sure just how to put them together. I finally figured it out and in 2008 I finished it by putting the black sashing around them, but doing it in the way that works for cutting the blocks so that the design sits at an angle. It covers my cedar chest and gives me a place to display my needle point friends.
