We had a quilt shop in town for a short while and one month their block of the month was the Square in a Square using the printed foundation fabric. They had chosen the fabrics for people to use and at the end of the month, when everyone had turned theirs in I win the drawing. There were 13 blocks, so I immediately got more sets of the foundation fabric, as well as more yardage of the fabrics that had been chosen for the blocks. I decided to set the blocks on point, and have blocks of solid fabrics alternating with the square in a square blocks. That meant backing them with a muslin for foundation and doubling the fabric for the inner border.
