I found this quilt top in an antique store one summer. It cost me $40.00. It has to be from the 1920s-30s, I think. It is stamped for quilting and positioning of the flowers and leaves. It is also three panels that had to be sewn together first. I have to believe that the lady who was making it had to have died before she could finish it as all of the flowers and leaves were all appliqued to the top. only ONE last leaf was not quite finished. The needle was still on the thread and there was perhaps an inch of buttonhole stitching left to do. I got a clean needle and finished it as far as the thread would go. there is about this much: --------- that I could not do, so I did blind stitching to close it up. It is the only quilt that I have done all the quilting by hand. Only took me 3-4 years to do! May be the ONLY full quilt that ever gets completely hand-stitched by me.
