Chaela took my book "5,500 Quilt Designs" and picked out a lot of different blocks that she liked. I then went through them to find those that I could easily graph to the size I wanted, or had patterns for. And because she was taking dance lessons, she wanted ballet slippers as part of one block. We went shopping, she picked the colors and fabrics, and I went to work. When it was time to arrange the blocks, I found that the best layout was to put them in the order which they were shown in the book. The blocks just seemed to flow together when I did that. The best part of making this quilt was the skill I developed in enlarging and graphing the blocks to a 12" size.

Very nice. Don't you feel good when you learn a new skill. I also love your yard.

She did an excellent job picking out her fabrics and Grandma did a great job turning them into a beautiful quilt.
