Neat quilt.  Did you make it for someone in the armed forces? Are the pictures from a panel?

It's a beautiful quilt! I can't wait to finish it!  It's actually from a fabric line you can find on ebay and hancock fabrics.  I like it beacause it not the typical red, white, and blue patriotic quilt.  It is for my brother who has been to afganistan and Iraq several times.  He's active duty in the army 20+ years now!

Thank you so much everyone for all the compliments!  I really like the show and tell gallery because the opinions of other quilters really  help me out with getting a gage of what patterns and fabrics appeal to others and how I'm doing on my work! I'm new at quilting and have so much to learn!

There are no words to expresss the feelings this quilt brings up.  Great work and I agree that it is a nice change from the traditional.

WOW!  Impressive.  Is that adhesive applique or turn under?

Or did you just get lucky and find that fabric somewhere? Barbara

grandbysquilts:

fyi:  it took me a while to find the material, but it's a panel called battle frame from hancock fabrics.

VERY nice. I would like to make this, but not finding the material. Looked on Hancocks but it's not coming up. Also, did you have a pattern or are you one the lucky gals who designs their own. Again, a wonderful quilt.

Thank you so much for all the compliments! The fabric line is from Fabri-quilt called Defenders of Freedom.  I know they did have some at Hancocks and there's some on Ebay and I think EE Schenk still has it.  I bought the bolts becuase I new I would use them time and again!  It's a very simple pattern.  I just used sashing around the preprinted panels.  But due to overwhelming response to my Quilts of Valor :D (thank you so much by the way!)  I am working on getting my patterns together with directions and packaged so I can start selling them :D  I'm a little overwhelmed at all the response!

Just to let everyone know, I have an album on my facebook page with other Quilt of Valor designs in it.  I'm listed under Giddy's Quilts, just hit 'like' or Bridgette Stein and feel free to add me, just send me a message letting me know it's 'quilt related'.  Thank you so much for all the support!

Really wonderful quilt.  You've done a great job!  Please thank your brother for his service to our country.  I had a nephew who was in Iraq for 2 tours of duty.  thankfully, he is home safe now.  God bless all our troops and their families!  Linda

Looking forward to the pattern. I also have a nephew over there, this is his 3rd tour. I would like to make this for him. The overwhelming response is well deserved. A safe Memorial Day to all.
