This was another of Great-great Grandma's quilts. The pink patches seem to be cut from a cotton blanket and the blue patches are very faded but I think they may be indigo died, and was probaly left-over from making work shirts. It's rather course material that bled into the lighter patches a bit.  It's backed with a fine black and white plaid shirtin, used for a self binding.

Yippee!! I finally got MiL to sit down and tell me what she knew about the quilts she gave me. She didn't know much of anything about the HST quilt with the chinz back, but this one she remembered. The pink squares were cut from one of her mother's (great Grandma's) old bathrobes. She didn't know where Great-Great Grandma got the blue, but she was certain that it was something she had on hand - maybe pieces leftover from making her husband a work shirt, since Great-Great Grandpa always seemed to wear blue shirts (She told me this without knowing about my guess as to their orgin). Grandma remembers watching her grandmother piece it when she was a real little girl, before she started school - which means it was most certainly made in the early 1930's. Grandma and her cousins all slept under it whenever they stayed with their grandparents.
