Hand embriodered redwork squares consisting of zoo Animals, First ladies, farm animals, birds, White house, children etc. Clam shell design hand quilted.
This quilt was given to me by my mother-in-law, who received it from her mothers' neighbor who died in 1970 at the age of 81. This could have been created in late 1800's.
The quilt was made when he was a boy, which I read was common, to keep young boys out of mischief. I have a letter from a family member which is dated 1970 saying when he passed away. I also have his obituary saying he was from Indiana and a couple of pictures of the gentleman.
I would be interested to know if anyone knows a value.
The white material seems to have light staining or aging.
great quilt thanks for sharing it
